Cabinets purchased from an authorized Christiana Cabinetry designer showroom will be free from all defects in workmanship and materials for 10 years from the date of delivery by Christiana Cabinetry. This warranty applies to the original cabinet purchaser only and is non-transferable. The cabinetry is constructed and warranted for indoor consumer use only.
Under this warranty, we will repair the cabinet in question or provide a replacement part for any defective material at no charge. Not covered under this warranty are cabinets showing normal wear and tear over the 10 year period; cabinets that have been misused, abused, neglected, changed or modified in any way, and cabinets that were improperly installed; painted cabinetry discolored by tobacco or excessive smoke caused by poor ventilation. Also not covered are cabinets that have been stored (uninstalled) for three months or longer from the date of delivery in a facility other than Christiana Cabinetry. This includes but is not limited to Dealer Showrooms, warehouses, jobsites or client’s residence. We do not cover damage resulting from insufficient (under 35%) or excessive (over 65%) humidity in the area where the cabinets have been installed or stored. We are also not responsible for damage resulting from lighting in the cabinets (i.e., halogen lights, etc.). These lights produce excess heat and may dry out the wood. Since we do not install the cabinets, we cannot be responsible for labor charges or damages incurred in the installation, removal, repair or exchange of the cabinets.
We cannot warrant components not manufactured by Christiana Cabinetry; however, these components are generally subject to the warranties of their manufacturers. This is our exclusive warranty, and takes the place of any and all other warranties, either expressed or implied. We will not be responsible for any incidental or consequential damages incurred as a result of defects, aside from our promise to repair or provide replacement parts as stated above.
To make a claim under this warranty, consumers must contact the authorized Christiana Cabinetry designer showroom where cabinetry was purchased. Designer Showroom must have a completed and signed copy of the warranty from the client for each order. The Designer Showroom will provide Christiana Cabinetry with a copy of the warranty signed by the client for each order.
Caring for Wood Cabinet Surfaces
As with all wood products, avoid excessive moisture. Our cabinetry is designed for inside use only and is not intended for outdoor applications. Once your cabinets have been installed, wipe down all exteriors with a damp cloth to remove any dust. Avoid vigorous rubbing as this will create hot-spots in the wood and ruin the original finish. Wood cabinetry finishes may be cleaned and protected by using commercially available cleaning polish. Christiana Cabinetry recommends an emulsion-type cleaner (such as Murphy’s Oil Soap). These are formulated without wax, petroleum solvents or silicones. The extended use of wax polishes can result in a wax film buildup, while the use of silicone polishes can harm the cabinet’s finish.
Avoid spray-type polishes (Pledge, Behold, etc.) containing petroleum solvents, as they create a wax build-up on the finish. Use a damp cloth when cleaning normal household spills. After wiping thoroughly, dry the surface with a lint-free cotton cloth. For stubborn stains, it may be necessary to use a mild detergent with warm water. Always dry the surface immediately.
Never use abrasive cleaners, scouring pads or powdered cleansers. Do not allow oven cleaner to touch any part of the cabinet.
NOTE: Do not use a dishcloth to wipe your cabinet exterior, since it may contain remnants of grease or detergents.
It is important to wipe up spills and water marks as they occur. Give special attention to areas around the sink and dishwasher. Avoid draping damp or wet dishtowels over the door of the sink base cabinet. Over time, this moisture can cause permanent water damage to the door. If desired or needed, a convenient, out-of-the-way sliding towel rack can be purchased from your local Christiana Cabinetry dealer.
Care and Cleaning of Hardware
Periodically, use mild soap and warm water to clean door/drawer knobs or pulls. Thoroughly dry all hardware joints and surfaces and the surrounding area with a clean, soft cloth. Buff hardware with a clean, dry cloth. Lubrication of hinges is not necessary; however, hinges can be cleaned or dusted using cotton-tipped swabs.
CAUTION: Many brass and silver polishes contain harsh chemicals that can damage the hardware’s surface. These polishes and cleaners are NOT recommended.
Avoid Excessive Heat
Self-cleaning appliances generate intense heat during a cleaning cycle. Since the integrity of the appliance seal or gasket may be compromised during installation or with age, Christiana Cabinetry recommends the removal of doors and/or drawers from cabinets adjacent to or directly above an appliance during a cleaning cycle. This will help prevent possible damage to the finish or surface of these cabinets.
Care and Cleaning of Glass Door Inserts
If your kitchen contains cabinetry accented with glass doors, a few precautions are necessary. Apply glass cleaner to a towel, not directly to the glass. Avoid cleaner contact with lead-, white-, gold- or copper-clad mullions.
Care and Cleaning of Mirrors
Cleaner should always be applied to a cloth, not directly to the mirror, and should not be allowed to run or drip into the base trim. Avoid cleaners that contain sodium hydrochloride, phosphoric acid or sulfur (found in products to prevent mildew and fungus). Hair spray and other hair care products often contain chemicals that are caustic to silver and may cause damage to the mirror back. Do not use abrasives.
